compass color selection guide. Guhring
has marked its standard taps with color
rings to help you quickly and
confidently choose the correct tool for
your job. Each color ring relates to the
unique machining behavior of different
materials. So, by knowing the material
you are tapping and the corresponding
color ring, you can quickly navigate
your way to the proper tap selection.

Guhring Tool Holders
Guhring offers a complete line
of tool holders and clamping
systems. Whether tooling a
multi-spindle special transfer
line, multi-spindle drill head,
CNC machining or turning center,
Guhring has the right tool
holder for the application. Tool
holding options offered by
Guhring in the GM 300 line
include HSK, SK ISO-Taper DIN
69871, BT-Taper, and direct
mount adapters.
Tool holder types offered by
Guhring include hydraulic
chucks, ER style collet holders,
side lock and whistle notch (end
mill) holders, tapping chucks
and shrink fit chucks,. In
addition to shrink fit chucks,
Guhring offers GISS shrink fit
tooling systems. The GISS 2000
shrink fit system employs an
economical water cooling system
that makes tool holding quick
and accurate. The GISS 3000 unit
has the same water cooling
system along with a tool pre-set
tower gauge.
All Guhring precision tool
holders are made with quality
steel to the highest standards.

balanced to G6.3/15,000 RPM,

Guhring PCD Tooling
The ultra-hard substrate of
Guhring PCD tooling delivers
optimum machining performance in
abrasive, difficult to machine
materials. These materials
include bronze, magnesium, high
silicon aluminum alloys and
other non-ferrous materials. PCD
tooling will not only improve
tool life and surface finish but
it also has the potential to
increase cutting rates from
10-100 times the rates of even
the latest carbide grades and
coatings.

Guhring Reconditioning Services
When Guhring reconditions your
dull tools they will return to
your shop with the same
geometries the tools had when
they were originally
manufactured. Guhring utilizes
state-of-the-art CNC tool
grinding machines designed and
built by Guhring to recondition
carbide, high speed steel and
PCD cutting tools. These
machines, along with the highly
skilled people that operate
them, can recondition drills,
reamers, end mills and
countersinks. Guhring also
offers complete modification
grinds for carbide end mills
such as corner radius and
chamfer.

wear-resistant PVD hard coatings
and a new self lubricating soft
coating called MolyGlide®. Our
coatings include Titanium
Nitride (TiN), Titanium
